It is estimated that nearly 8% of veterans receive a CKD diagnosis each year, with male veterans being diagnosed at higher rates than female veterans (8.2% vs 2.7%).1 Recent studies have also demonstrated possible racial and ethnic disparities along with many comorbidities that affect veterans with CKD at higher rates than those without CKD.2,3
