Patterson of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Research Institute in Columbus, Ohio, provides the lowdown on intralymphatic immunotherapy, in which a three-injection protocol of ultrasound-guided lymph node injections spaced 4 weeks apart is being investigated as a treatment for grass pollen-induced rhinoconjunctivitis in adolescents. It’s an attractive alternative to the conventional 3-year regimen of weekly, then monthly subcutaneous immunotherapy injections.
