Correction: Newer modes of mechanical ventilation
A mistake appeared in Figure 2 on page 418 in the July issue of the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine (Mireles-Cabodevila E, Diaz-Guzman E, Heresi GA, Chatburn RL. Alternative modes of mechanical ventilation: A review for the hospitalist. Cleve Clin J Med 2009; 76:417–430). The graph of the parameters in adaptive support ventilation incorrectly states, “Target tidal volume set by operator.” It should say, “Target tidal volume set by the ventilator.” The corrected figure is shown.

Correction: Pregabalin for fibromyalgia
In an article that appeared in the April issue of the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine (Kim L, Lipton S, Deodhar A. Pregabalin for fibromyalgia: some relief but no cure. Cleve Clin J Med 2009; 76:255–261.), journal editors failed to list the participation of one of the authors in a clinical trial of pregabilin (Lyrica) that was funded by the drug’s manufacturer. Dr. Atul Deodhar had disclosed his participation in the trial to an editor, and the failure to list it with the article at the time of publication was an oversight on the part of CCJM.

Correction: A case of refractory diarrhea
Two errors appeared in: Monti J, Isaacson JH, Lashner B. A case of refractory diarrhea. Cleve Clin J Med 2008; 75:677–680. On page 679, the proprietary name of lansoprazole was incorrectly given as Prilosec and the proprietary name of omeprazole was incorrectly given as Prevacid. The proprietary names were reversed. The correct listing should have been: Lansoprazole (Prevacid) and omeprazole (Prilosec).

Correction: Antibiotic prophylaxis dosage error
In the February 2008 issue, the article “Infective endocarditis prophylaxis before dental procedures: new guidelines spark controversy” by Dr. Alice Kim and Dr. Thomas Keys (pages 89–92) contained a typographical error. In Table 2, “Antibiotic prophylactic regimens” on page 91, the dose of azithromycin or clarithromycin in adults was incorrect. It should be 500 mg.
